Monday Musings--More Downton Abbey Reading

Downton Abbey Cast (Photo: pbs.org)
Last night's episode of Downton Abbey was a delicious two hours long, with several interesting turns and developments.  There were many secrets to be managed and the most unexpected of alliances were formed to maintain a delicate balance and avoid further scandal.  In the lead up to next week's season ender, Lord Grantham continues to believe that everyone is against him, and the Dowager Countess (played by Maggie Smith) is at her feisty best.  The conversation between characters continues to satisfy, entertain, and delight.

Librarian Lisa Schimmer's latest Downton Abbey book recommendations are:

                    England, Their EnglandThe Jewel Box

Brideshead Revisited and Vile Bodies by Evelyn Waugh; The Eye in the Door by Pat Barker; England, Their England by A.G. Macdonnell; and The Jewel Box by Anna Davis

Lisa's entire blog post can be read here--but--spoiler alert--don't read her comments unless you have already viewed Episode 6.
