First Chapter ~ First Paragraph

It's Tuesday . . . time for . . .

First Chapter ~ First Paragraph Tuesday Intros, now hosted by Vicki at I'd Rather Be At The Beach, where bloggers post the first paragraph(s) of a book they are currently reading or planning to read sometime soon.

Today I'm featuring my current read, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid  The excerpt shared is from advanced readers copy I got from the publisher.

Evelyn Hugo to Auction Off Gowns

Film legend and '60s It Girl Evelyn Hugo has just announced that she will auction off 12 of her most memorable gowns through Christies's to raise money for breast cancer research.

At the age of 79, Hugo has long been an icon of glamour and elegance.  She is known for a personal style both sensual and restrained, and many of Hugo's most famous looks are considered touchstones of the fashion and Hollywood archives.

What do you think?  Would you continue reading?
I'm reading this novel for one of my book clubs and am enjoying its story of a fictionalized movie star's reminiscence of her decades-long career and many romantic relationships.

This is s very different read to what I'd normally go for, however, I am curious and would definitely give it a go.

Here's my Tuesday post.

Oh yes, I'm curious and have this on my TBR list. Hope it's a good one.

Sounds interesting, but I'll read the synopsis and then decide.

I like the cover, but it isn't something I'd normally read.
